Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialised massage which stimulates the lymphatic system to promote healing, boost the immune system and remove excess fluid and waste products from the body.

MLD is used in many Congestive and Inflammatory conditions, Lymphoedema, Chronic Oedema and post-surgery recovery/healing and scar work. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a recognised appropriate therapy which can be advised;

  • As part of an Intense decongestive treatment programme for your Lymphoedema.

  • As a continuous management programme of your Lymphoedema.

  • To improve healing and reduce the recovery time after surgery or severe injury, as it will help to reduce swelling and bruising, accelerate the healing process and minimise scarring.

  • To improve Inflammatory conditions such as Arthritis and Irritable Bowel syndrome

  • To  deeply detoxify tissues and is used in conjunction with dietary regimes for full body detoxification.

What can you expect from your first MLD appointment?
Your treatment session begins with a 60 - 90 minute consultation, we will discuss any health issues, your current life style and together we will develop an appropriate treatment plan which is best suited to you as an individual.

For your MLD treatment session you will be asked to remove some clothing depending on the part of the body being treated. Treatment is usually lying down on a treatment couch, with blankets and pillows for comfort and support. The massage uses light, repetitive and directional movements which are very gentle, relaxing and deceptively powerful.

An intensive course of treatment is recommended for pre and post-surgery or post injury, schedules for other conditions will vary according to individual needs. * MLD boosts the immune system and promotes healing.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

MLD is a therapy that improves the efficiency of the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is stimulated to work at an increased rate, boosting the immune system, stimulating the nervous system and encouraging lymphatic drainage.

Holistic Massage

A range of Massage techniques are used to leave you feeling relaxed and tension free, promoting a sense of calm and well being.

Remedial Massage is used to work on specific injuries, recurrent tension held areas or if a deeper technique is preferred. A combination of deep tissue techniques, effective manipulation and a combination of active stretches can be used.

Reflexology

An holistic treatment which works on the reflexes on the clients feet to clear blockages and encouraging the body to return to its natural balance. Reflexology can be deeply relaxing, and effectively help to alleviate the symptoms of stress.

Indian Head Massage

An holistic treatment that uses the Ayurvedic healing system involving the back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face to treat the mind, body and spirit, restoring life's balance of energy and promoting self healing.
