Both Lymphoedema and Lipoedema can be isolating conditions as there is still limited knowledge and research behind these conditions, therfore experiences by individuals trying to find help with these conditions can be varied. I have 8 years experience in helping people with these conditions and in my experience there is always something we can try.

You are able to take control and manage this condition, and I am here to help you facilitate this!

Testimonials :-

*Maura is an very experienced and effective Lymphoedema management therapist. I began seeing her in January 2018 on a regular basis for  MLD treatment.  10 months later, I made my regular visit to the Austrian  Lympheodema clinic where I go for annual intensive maintenance treatment. For the first time in ten years my leg was smaller upon arrival — 1.7 litre reduction of the overall volume! My Austrian therapists were delighted with my progress and the treatment given by Maura.

Maura is able to assess the condition of my Lymphoedema and to tailor each session to my needs. She is sensitive to the personal/intimate nature of Lympheodema treatment and she understands how overwhelming the condition can be. I’m so glad that we have such a talented and knowledgeable therapist in Wiltshire.

*I have stage 3 lipoedema with secondary lymphoedema and undergone 6 surgeries in 10 months. When I first met Maura I could no longer walk unaided. She has been as big a part of my recovery as my surgeon recomnded.  Each surgery has had challenges and each has left me with post operative hardness, swelling and unimaginable pain.  Maura has been amazing and offered such relief and worked really hard to help alleviate the pain I have suffered, she has done this successfully.

Maura has done MLD on my whole body as well as concentrating on specific areas which have caused me pain, having listened to my needs.  This had been such a relief with the swelling working its way out of my body allowing me to move easier, feel better and gradually become pain free in the areas I have had surgery as well as areas I have not. She has most definitely assisted in my recovery and has been pivotal to the time it has taken for me to literally get back on my feet.

Post surgery she has been gentle around bruising and stitches as well as firm enough to make a difference.  My wounds have not phased Maura and she has seen me with holes in my legs and still managed to help me in a professiinal and friendly way.

There are times I wished I could have had MLD with her every day, and Maura has managed to fit me in at short notice when the pain and swelling has been overwhelming.  Maura has also worked hard to fit me in for intensive sessions from as little as 7 days post surgery.

During each session Maura has been great in helping me dress back into my compression, she has talked to me throughout and listened to my challenges both surgically and personally.  Maura has measured me for compression garments and helped me with advice for non MLD related things such as stretches and getting back to activity.

I would recommend Maura and have done so to others who have the same condition and journey as me, and I will continue to see Maura even once my surgical needs end as I know she will make a difference to the lymphoedema in my arms and legs going forward.

*As part of my treatment for breast cancer in 2010, I had to have lymph nodes
removed from my left arm. Following a fall and fracture of my wrist a few years
later, I developed lymphedema - a condition that although not life threatening
needs careful management. I was prescribed a compression sleeve and given
good advice about how to manage the condition. Following up on advice from
the excellent breast care nurses at the RUH, the specialist lymphedema nurses
in Banes and my own research, I realised that I would probably benefit from
regular massage of the arm as part of a strategy to manage the swelling and
discomfort. As a qualified MLD practitioner, Maura’s details were given to me
as an expert who could help.
Her approach and techniques have been great in a number of ways. Regular
massage which works on opening up the lymphatic system and then ensuring
that excess fluid is drained effectively has definitely helped manage the (at
times) very uncomfortable swelling. But over the three years I’ve been a
regular client, I’ve really come to understand the wider benefits of this
treatment. Treatment for any cancer often leaves people feeling helpless and
vulnerable – definitely not in charge. My sessions with Maura mean I feel I am
doing something pro-active and the quiet, reflective time gives me a sense of
coming to terms with the physical and psychological toll that cancer can take –
even a decade on. Maura is extraordinarily good at what she does. Calm,
gentle, sensitive and never intrusive, she uses her knowledge, experience and
training with great skill. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

*I first had treatment from Maura following bouts of cellulitis which left me feeling low. She was my last resort. Maura gave me with MLD weekly which soon gave a noticeable reduction in the swelling. The time between sessions became monthly and then quarterly. I am now able to wear tops and jackets that I haven't wotn for years!
I have also had reflexology RLD which gave marked results.
Now that I have a much reduced arm and continue to get treatment regularly as I find I am comforted and relaxed by alternate reflexology and MLD sessions

*Maura’s lymphatic drainage massage treatments have significantly helped to reduce the swelling in my leg following groin dissection surgery. Her reflexology treatments were also highly effective. She was kind, understanding and supportive during this difficult time,
Helping me to come to terms with my cancer surgery and ongoing lymphoedema management.
